Transportation and Parking
Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW), 9000 Middlebelt Rd., Romulus MI 48174 (also referenced as I-94 exit 198, William Rogell Drive, Detroit MI 48242), is 18.8 miles from the conference site (EMU Student Center) and from our optional campus housing at Putnam or The Village. The airport is served by Michigan Green Cars, 2 certified taxi companies, and a local bus that connects with Ann Arbor 8 times daily. Please note that a rental car is unnecessary at P-POD if you stay at on-campus housing.
DTW is served by 20 major and minor airlines, the principal 12 of which are listed in this directory.
Ann Arbor is also accessible via Amtrak train, and its station is closer to Ypsilanti than are those for Detroit or Dearborn. See station locations by clicking the MAP button on this page. Check out possible dates, times and prices on this page.
Parking
Overnight, if using campus housing: Parking adjacent to the two buildings used for walking-distance campus housing, may be reserved and paid in advance using our regular online registration. $10/day is charged for each day present before, during or after the conference, but the hours of enforcement are 9 am - 5 pm. Day parking, if staying elsewhere: The university is dedicating the Student Center lot to P-POD use, and, BREAKING NEWS, this day parking will be FREE for P-POD! This lot is on the northwest sides of the Student Center, between it and the corner of Oakwood and Mayhew.
Walking Distance Lodging
P-POD is offering walking distance on-campus housing for registrants not from the area, for economy, ease of access and potentially a greater sense of P-POD community. Please see our page for the campus housing that may be booked as part of our regular online registration process.
University charges per day for parking a car at the campus housing site may also be prepaid during P-POD registration. See campus housing page.

We champion use of affordable walking-distance campus apartments for lodging, but for those who prefer to stay at a hotel quite a distance from campus, we each year negotiate group rates at one or more hotels rated at least 4 out of 5 stars in Tripadvisor reviews. Because some attendees will not have use of a car, we work to negotiate some hotel shuttle service to/from our conference site at least once/day in each direction. This is settled for Regent and Baymont below, but Microtel will NOT have a P-POD shuttle. Most important hotel facts are listed above, and more details are shown below for each hotel separately.
