2026 Credits Earned for Lifestyle Medicine Credentialing

Since January 2018, P-POD Conferences have always automatically been approved as applying to the "Event CME" prerequisite for ABLM/ACLM Lifestyle Medicine certification exam-takers, through continuing education credits earned at P-POD.  They always count toward maintenance requirements as well, and Physician or Professional registrants who are Diplomates receive a 10% P-POD discount.
--------------------------------------------------
Diplomate exam candidates must complete 20 hours (virtual or in-person) of Event CME, and normally each year, they must register for the exam by Sept. 30 and give ABLM their continuing education credit certificate copies by Oct. 23.   Other prerequisites for Diplomate credentialing are shown at this ABLM page.
--------------------------------------------------

NEW for 2026, EVERY KIND of continuing education credit certificate earned from P-POD Conference participation is accepted by ABLM/ACLM for ALL credentialing purposes.  You should claim whichever is suitable or convenient for your situation:

  • Physicians may use AAFP CME or regular CME credits.

  • Registered nurses may use nursing contact hours unless wishing to use CME for this purpose.

  • Nurse practitioners may use nursing contact hours, AAFP CME or regular CME credits.

  • Registered dietitians may use CDR CPEU or CME credits.

  • Any other practitioners may use regular CME as 1st choice or AAFP CME as 2nd choice.

P-POD DIRECTLY issues to registrants these certificates accepted by ABLM/ACLM:

  • AAFP Prescribed Credits CME for family physicians and others.

  • Nursing contact hours (ANCC).

  • CDR CPEU credits in dietetics.

Otherwise, the regular CME credits (AMA PRA Category 1TM) are claimed by registrants at the CME accreditor's separate website.
--------------------------------------------------
Our continuing education credits page CE.p-pod.org gives complete information about each kind of credit that can be earned at P-POD.  P-POD files for annual re-accreditation early each year, and the three kinds of credits directly issued (see above) show on that page as "pending" until final formal re-approval.  The regular CME credits never show as "pending", they are just posted on that page all at once when formal re-accreditation completes.
