ABOUT ATLANTA.  Also, within a matter of days we will be launching a page devoted to information (venue/travel/lodging etc.) about our ATLANTA GA in-person location for June 6–7.  For now, here is a bullet-point summary:

  • This has a regular P-POD conference AGENDA (covering P-POD Core Topics) that INCLUDES multiple hours of a Cancer Survivorship Summit, coinciding with the National Cancer Survivors Day weekend.

  • It is also presented in collaboration with Emory Winship Cancer Institute and in partnership with the Emory Office of Well-Being (EmWELL) and Healthy Emory.

  • The location is Emory University Hospital Midtown Glenn Bldg., 550 Peachtree St. NE, Atlanta GA 30308, with a parking garage attached, 10.5 miles to the Atlanta (ATL) airport and 6 to 8 minutes walk to either of two city metro (MARTA) train stations (that are actually on the airport line).

  • P-POD has arranged room blocks at $139-$142 + tax (+ parking if needed) at two Tripadvisor 4.0-out-of-5.0 rated hotels that are one and four stops away on that city metro train line.  (Book by May 5th.)

  • Program hours, in local Eastern time, are Saturday 11am-7:35pm (ending an hour and a quarter before sunset) and Sunday 9am-4:55pm.

  • MEALS during the conference hours (Saturday lunch/dinner, Sunday breakfast/lunch) are included in registration prices After the conference closing Sunday 4:55 pm there will be an optional $29-extra-cost dinner that may be added during registration if you will remain at that hour for it.  Meals are made from plant-based vegan whole foods, without wheat being used as an ingredient, and with no-added-oil or else with no-added-oil options available for each dish.

  • P-POD assumes it has permission to utilize, for promotional and educational purposes, photographic images of the conference proceedings and incidental audience presence, unless prior written notification is received from individual attendees that such permission is withheld with regard to them.

Discounts, groups

Discounts and Discounted Groups, for Some Physician or Other Professional Registrations.

Members of certain groups may use the discount "promo codes" listed below for reduction of the "Physician" or "Other Professional" prices during registration.  Discount amount would be 10% off the current prices in the charts ABOVE on this page.  One example in list below:  persons who are already Lifestyle Medicine Diplomates have a discount code DIPLM.

When you register in 2026, these promo codes do NOT get used while you are choosing your days and tickets.  They only get submitted during your final checkout, where the question "have a promotional code?" appears below the "Total" line for your order's dollars.  If you type in your qualifying code THERE, it removes 10% from each Physicians or Other Professionals ticket amount you had, but not from the $2 outside charges added to each ticket.

Cancellation Policies

Registration Cancellation Policies

A cancellation could always be an opportunity to exercise extraordinary generosity and donate your payments to our nonprofit's P-POD Scholarship Fund.

2023-ONWARD CHANGE for persons paying registration with a credit/debit card:  The card processor Square announced that for 2023 onward  it will NO LONGER refund the FEES it originally charged, when full or partial amounts get refunded.  This means that, for any P-POD cash refund amount that is allowed via the rules below, 2.9% + 30 cents of that refund can never be paid to you, because P-POD can never get the money back from Square.  E.g. a $90 refund becomes $87.  It's offensive, but we're stuck with it.

  • Any cancellation that results from your own illness or that of your immediate family members, or from action by a government to prevent your travel, will allow you these options:

    • applying toward any future P-POD event, all payments we received;  or

    • in the case of your in-person event registration, applying your payments toward a virtual registration for the same event, and either applying the remainder toward any future P-POD event or refunding the difference;  or

    • if notice is received more than 8 days before the conference you registered for, receiving full refunds without any cancellation fee.

  • A cancellation for any other reason, requested 45 days or more prior to the conference you registered for, will allow you these options:

    • applying toward any future P-POD event, all payments we received;  or

    • in the case of your in-person event registration, applying your payments toward a virtual registration for the same event, and either applying the remainder toward any future P-POD event or refunding the difference;  or

    • receiving a refund of all payments we received, minus $45 which will go into the P-POD Scholarship Fund.

  • A cancellation for any other reason, requested less than 45 days but more than 8 days prior to the conference you registered for, will allow you these options:

    • in the case of your in-person event registration, applying your payments toward the equivalent virtual registration for the same event, without refund or crediting of any remainder;  or

    • in the case of your in-person event registration, refunding 35% of the total amounts paid, or else applying 70% of the total paid toward any future P-POD event (with remainders going to the P-POD Scholarship Fund);  or

    • in the case of your virtual event registration, refunding 50% of the total amounts paid, or else applying 90% of the total paid toward any future P-POD event (with remainders going to the P-POD Scholarship Fund).

  • A cancellation for any other reason, requested 8 days or less prior to the conference you registered for, will allow you this option:

    • applying toward any other P-POD event, 1/3rd of all payments we received, with the remainder going to the P-POD Scholarship Fund.

Scholarships

P-POD Conference Scholarship Program

The P-POD Conference nonprofit has awarded more than sixty full need-based scholarships since 2019.

YOU ARE ELIGIBLE TO BE CONSIDERED IF:
(1) You have not yet registered for the conference you're interested in.
(2) You have a good reason for attending P-POD.
(3) You can demonstrate financial need that is an obstacle to your attendance.
(4) You have not received a P-POD scholarship in the past.

[Please note also that various opportunities for volunteer participation do come up throughout the year.  If interested, please see our
Volunteer page, which will soon be linked here after it is updated to be specific to the details, needs and schedules of our 2026 conferences.]

SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION TIMELINE, DETAILS:

(1) Our 2026 scholarship application will soon be linked here
.  You must DOWNLOAD it to complete it.  You do not type on it online.  It contains instructions for submitting it.

(2) All seven 2026 conference days are being offered virtually, and June 6-7 weekend is also offered as in-person in Atlanta GA, and you may apply for a scholarship for any of these days.  An in-person scholarship covers only registration and meals at the conference, and cannot support any necessary travel or lodging costs.

(3) The deadline dates for applying are specific to the conference day being applied for, and will be posted here as soon as  necessary lead-time periods are determined.

(4) Scholarship applicants will be notified of our action within three weeks of applying, but everyone applying for a particular day will be notified by one week after its final application deadline noted above.

(5) Award recipients must accept or decline the offer within one week of its being made.  Declined awards would be offered to other qualified applicants.  In-person recipients must confirm they have arrangements made for any travel or lodging needs that attendance depends on.
