Mahima Gulati, MD FACE MSc FACLM DipABLM ECNU earned her medical degree at Maulana Azad Medical College, Delhi University, India and completed residencies in Internal Medicine with a Women’s Health Track at Jacobi Medical Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Yeshiva University, Bronx NY and in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at the University of Utah.  She is multiply board-certified in Endocrinology, Diabetes, Metabolism, Lifestyle Medicine and Internal Medicine, and was recognized as one of Connecticut's “Top Doctors” by Castle Connolly and Connecticut Magazine from 2022 to 2024.  She has been honored as a Fellow by the American College of Endocrinology and also by the American College of Lifestyle Medicine (ACLM), which she has served since 2022 as a Board of Directors member.

Dr Gulati is a Visiting Associate Professor of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism in the Department of Medicine at UConn School of Medicine, and an Adjunct Associate Professor of Internal Medicine in the Department of Medical Sciences at Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine, Quinnipiac University, where she teaches about Lifestyle Medicine as well as endocrinology.  At UConn Health, she now also directs the Lifestyle Medicine Residency Curriculum for endocrinology fellows, and the novel Lifestyle Medicine endocrinology service line including shared medical appointments.  She previously served for many years as Senior Attending Physician in the Section of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism, and was the founding Director of the Lifestyle Medicine and Lifestyle Endocrinology program, at Middlesex Health Hospital in Middletown CT. 

Dr. Gulati previously was the founding Chair of the Endocrinology Member Interest Group, and now co-chairs the Reproductive Health subcommittee of the Women’s Health Member Interest Group, at ACLM, as well as serving on its Research Committee and Clinical Practice and Quality Committees.  She was a panel member and co-author of the ACLM Expert Consensus Statement on “Dietary Interventions to Treat Type 2 Diabetes in Adults with a Goal of Remission”, and co-authored its clinical practice guidelines on “Lifestyle Interventions for Treatment and Remission of Type 2 Diabetes and Prediabetes in Adults”.  She is also a member of the Clinical Practice Guidelines Oversight Committee at the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology.  She is the primary author of four textbook chapters, and co-author of seven articles and reviews in peer-reviewed journals, on subjects such as type 2 diabetes remission with lifestyle approaches, obesity management, women's reproductive and hormonal health, gonadal function, PCOS and pituitary disorders.
