P-FLEX:  Choose Any 3 In-person or Virtual 2024 Days To Make Your Own 22.5 Hour Conference

You can choose ANY THREE of the six DAYS included in our 2024 conferences, whether in-person OR virtual, and use them as your OWN custom attendance package.  SEE THE SINGLE-DAY AGENDAS for your possible days, HERE.  What you should know:

  • Your 3 days will give you 22.5 educational hours.

  • None of the 6 possible days are on weekdays, they are all on Saturday or Sunday.

  • 4 of the 6 possible days are on Sundays, so you can easily have a 3-day package avoiding Saturdays.

  • All 6 possible days have virtual options, 4 have in-person options.

  • As CME re-accreditations complete for these conferences, every possible 3-day choice is recognized automatically by ABLM/ACLM as satisfying their 20-hour event CME prerequisite for 2024 Diplomate credentialing.

  • See price charts for all conferences.

COVID-19 and Public Health Measures

Our nonprofit has always implemented all appropriate science-based COVID-19-related public health precautions / controls we considered applicable at the time, and that always included:
*
*Do not come if experiencing COVID-like upper respiratory or other symptoms.
**Do not come if someone has ex
posed you to the coronavirus.

Our COVID-19 vaccine MANDATE was ENDED as of 2023 going forward, based on a vote by all current speakers.  If future adverse public health changes justify it, P-POD may need to consider and implement new infection prevention policies that are not currently in place, such as masking mandates.
Thank you for collectively supporting our community's safety!  SEE OUR COVID-19 POLICY HISTORY.

Meals at All In-person Conferences

All meals are 100% vegan plant-based without use of wheat as an ingredient, with oil-free options always available.  We never have a catering kitchen certified as free of all possible trace gluten micro-contamination.  2024 in-person conference breakfast, lunch and dinner are included with registration for each conference day you register for.  Dinner food serving will usually begin 5:15/5:20 pm and end about 6:40 pm.

Discounts and Discounted Groups

We have two types of discounts:

(1) Occasionally, a temporary discount code may be issued promotionally to individuals in some special situation, and that code could be applied during registration for a price reduction on attendance (but not on optional housing or post-conference meal costs).

(2) Members of certain groups may use the discount "promo codes" listed below for reduction of the "Physician" or "Other Professional" prices during registration.  Discount amount would be 10%.  Example in list below:  persons who are already Lifestyle Medicine Diplomates have a discount code DIPLM.

P-POD assumes it has permission to utilize, for promotional and educational purposes, photographic images of the conference proceedings and incidental audience presence, unless prior written notification is received from individual attendees that such permission is withheld with regard to them.

We are grateful for images of in-person P-POD Conferences provided by accomplished photographer Van White (https://pbase.com/vanwhite) at various places in this website.  The peach image in connection with our Georgia conference is from Brett Croft, Creative Commons (CC BY-NC 4.0), freepngimg.com.

Cancellation

A cancellation could always be an opportunity to exercise extraordinary generosity and donate your payments to the P-POD Scholarship Fund.

2023-ONWARD CHANGE for persons paying registration with a credit/debit card:  The card processor Square announced that for 2023 it will NO LONGER refund the FEES it originally charged, when full or partial amounts get refunded.  This means that, for any P-POD cash refund amount that is allowed via the rules below, 2.9% + 30 cents of that refund can never be paid to you, because P-POD can never get the money back from Square.  E.g. a $90 refund becomes $87.  It's offensive, but we're stuck with it.

Any cancellation that results from your own illness or that of your immediate family members, or from action by a government to prevent your travel, will allow you these options:
applying toward any future P-POD event, all payments we received;  or
in the case of your in-person event registration, applying your payments toward a virtual registration for the same event, and either applying the remainder toward any future P-POD event or refunding the difference;  or
if notice is received more than 8 days before the conference you registered for, receiving full refunds without any cancellation fee.

A cancellation for any other reason, requested 45 days or more prior to the conference you registered for, will allow you these options:
applying toward any future P-POD event, all payments we received;  or
in the case of your in-person event registration, applying your payments toward a virtual registration for the same event, and either applying the remainder toward any future P-POD event or refunding the difference;  or
receiving a refund of all payments we received, minus $45 which will go into the P-POD Scholarship Fund.

A cancellation for any other reason, requested less than 45 days but more than 8 days prior to the conference you registered for, will allow you these options:
in the case of your in-person event registration, applying your payments toward the equivalent virtual registration for the same event, without refund or crediting of any remainder;  or
in the case of your in-person event registration, refunding 35% of the total amounts paid, or else applying 70% of the total paid toward any future P-POD event (with remainders going to the P-POD Scholarship Fund);  or
in the case of your virtual event registration, refunding 50% of the total amounts paid, or else applying 90% of the total paid toward any future P-POD event (with remainders going to the P-POD Scholarship Fund).

A cancellation for any other reason, requested 8 days or less prior to the conference you registered for, will allow you this option:
applying toward any other P-POD event, 1/3rd of all payments we received, with the remainder going to the P-POD Scholarship Fund.

Scholarships

We're pleased to be continuing our scholarship program that was launched in 2019.  A small number of full registration-fee-only scholarships will be awarded in the coming months for all of the 2024 P-POD Conferences.  [Please note also that various opportunities for volunteer participation do come up throughout the year.  If interested, please see our Volunteer page, which will soon be updated to be specific to the details, needs and schedules of our 2024 conferences.]

YOU ARE ELIGIBLE TO BE CONSIDERED IF:
(1) You have not yet registered for the conference you're interested in.
(2) You have a good reason for attending P-POD.
(3) You can demonstrate financial need that is an obstacle to your attendance.
(4) You have not received a P-POD scholarship in the past.

SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION TIMELINE:
(1) Our 2024 scholarship application is at scholarship.p-pod.org.  You must DOWNLOAD it to complete it.  You do not type on it online.  It contains instructions for submitting it.

(2) The deadline dates for applying are specific to the conference being applied for:
**September 7-8 in-person Newark NJ or virtual:  due Monday, August 5
**September 29 Virtual Summit:  due Tuesday, August 27
**October 6 Virtual Summit:  due Wednesday, September 11

(3) Scholarship applicants will be notified of our action within three weeks of applying, but everyone will be notified by one week after the final application deadline noted above.

(4) Award recipients must accept or decline the offer within one week of its being made.  If you are applying for an in-person conference and live outside its local area, then the scholarship will be considered confirmed and final when you provide confirmation that you have made travel and housing arrangements for attending.  If confirmation is not received in one week we will transfer the award to another qualified applicant..

(5) Please note that for our June 1-2, 2024 in-person Raleigh NC conference there uniquely is inexpensive walkable university campus lodging obtainable through P-POD.  Our Raleigh NC venue/travel/lodging page is at nc.p-pod.org, and the page dedicated to information about the walking-distance campus rooms is HERE.
