For our past in-person conferences, our highest ideal has been to arrange walking-distance lodging for attendees.  For attendees who preferred off-site hotel accommodations to nearby housing, we only referred them to facilities rated at least 4 out of 5 stars in Tripadvisor reviews, and for which we could arrange rates much lower than those contracted by most professional conferences.  For our Oct. 23-24, 2021 Orlando conference, we have accomplished all of these goals.

We have secured a block of rooms for attendees at the same facility where the conference is being held:  The Rosen Centre, 9840 International Drive, Orlando FL 32819 (not to be confused with several other Rosen properties in Orlando).  Our impression of the offerings and management oversight at this hotel is a positive one, and the nightly base rate we arranged is only $16 higher than the hotel room block rate we provided at our last in-person event, 2 years ago in North Carolina.

The Rosen Centre room block has been open and available for P-POD attendee bookings since we opened registration for the October conference.  Here is basic information about the hotel:

• Name of P-POD room block:   It is P-POD 2021, though we don't know how the hotel will use dashes and spaces in this name.
   

• Nightly room rate:  will be shown during your online P-POD registration, and at the hotel's request will not be shown on this page.
   

• Start and end times of conference:  Sat. Oct. 23, 2:45 pm Eastern;  Sun. Oct. 24, 5:30 pm Eastern.
   

• Nights available at P-POD's rate:
  --Obviously, the nights that allow you to participate in the conference (and because of the travel-friendly late start on Saturday, some persons might require only Saturday night, which is permitted).
  
  --Up to 4 additional nights after Saturday if desired.
   

• Cutoff date for room availability and guaranteed rate:  Friday, Oct. 1, 2021.
   

• Some hotel policies and requests:
  --Cancellation of a reservation would be required at least 5 days before scheduled arrival to avoid being charged.  Exceptions related to illmess, quarantine or travel restrictions are addressed at https://www.rosencentre.com/rosenstotalcommitment/
  
  --Charging of laptops and cellphones in hotel rooms is encouraged, because there would not be enough electric outlets in the conference hall to accommodate all attendees at once.
