M. Elizabeth Swenor, DO FACLM DipABLM received her Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, and a Master of Arts education degree from Michigan State University, and completed her residency in Family Medicine in Harrisburg and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania through Pinnacle Health Hospitals.  She is board certified in Family and Lifestyle Medicine, has earned additional specialty medical certifications in fields such as Regenerative, Functional, Metabolic and Aesthetics Medicine, and has over two decades of clinical practice experience .  She is the longtime Medical Director of Lifestyle, Integrative and Functional Medicine at Henry Ford Health System in Detroit and has been honored as a Fellow of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine.

Dr. Swenor's clinical focus areas include chronic diseases, gut and microbiome health, weight loss management, regenerative and anti-aging medicine, and plant-based nutrition, and her practice encompasses all demographics and patient populations.   She believes passionately in patient-centered care and education that supports empowerment for self-improvement.  Her work emphasizes evidence-based lifestyle and functional medicine approaches to promoting and optimizing wellness while preventing, treating or reversing chronic disease.  She professes that reducing whole body stress and inflammation, and providing a foundation of  plant-based nutrition, can lead to correction of metabolic imbalances and enhancement of overall health.

Dr. Swenor has also earned a Certificate in Plant-based Nutrition from T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies and eCornell, as well as a Physician Health Coach Certification from the Complete Health Improvement Program (CHIP) and a Clinician Chef Coaching Certification from Harvard University.
